Yuri N. Maltsev is a Professor of Economics at Carthage College in Wisconsin. He held various government and research positions in Moscow, Russia. Before defecting to the US in 1989, he was a member of a senior economics team that worked on President Gorbachev's reforms package of perestroika.
Yuri joins Pete to talk about what he sees as ever growing socialism in the United States. He tells his story of growing up in the Soviet Union and defecting the the U.S. He also gives some background Russian history some may not have heard.
